Joe Cartoon is practically a web institution. The man behind the site started off making crazy animations for beer money and he’s now a full-fledged online brand in his own right. With a site that gets a phenomenal amount of traffic every day, keeping his adoring fans (aka Joe Heads) entertained with fresh insanity is a full-time job.
Joe Cartoon came to Fusionary with a vision for a new, expanded site that would help keep that traffic growing. In addition to the full-bore lunacy of his interactive novelties and animations, Joe wanted to fire up all sorts of new attractions including videos (think JoeTube), online games, and much more.
Behind the scenes, the Joe Cartoon minions needed a way to easily maintain all the content. Animations, videos, advertising — all of it had to be under their direct control.
We worked with them to define a whole new way to incorporate advertising into the site so that it would attract more and more advertisers without driving away the Joe Heads. And Flash, we did lots of it — animated interface elements, a whole slate of online games, cartoon and video players, integrated advertising elements, you name it.
But most important of all, we worked hard to make sure that, no matter what, Joe would still be Joe. Because that’s what he does best (and it’s what we do best, too).
Long story, we made it all happen — on time and on budget. The new site went live and Joe Cartoon now stands poised to conquer the earth. And we’re still working with them, looking for new opportunities to expand the value and appeal of the site.
