Orangecello (2011 Holiday Greeting)

Here at Fusionary we’re suckers for tradition. Every year since 1995 we’ve committed ourselves to creating unique and memorable holiday greetings. A phoenix chicken, a flying squirrel, a simulated scavenger hunt on cd-rom (remember those?)—this is how we extend a warm cheese-n-greetings to all those we care about.

2011 is no exception…okay, so there’s one exception. Normally at least half the greeting is online. This year we’re giving away booze, homemade Orangecello to be exact, and rather than create a web-based experience to complement the gift, we devoted our time to perfecting the recipe. Turns out the decision was a good one—early feedback suggests Fusionary brand Orangecello is a hit!

Happy Holidays from all of us at Fusionary. Please celebrate responsibly.

Today Fusionary launched mcfaddensgrandrapids.com, the second of five separate sites that Grand Rapids-based restaurant group Barfly Ventures has asked us to create for them. Viceroygr.com, the first in the series, launched a few months ago; the remaining three sites, including one for local hotspot HopCat, are currently in development and will be launching sometime in early 2012.

We Moved

Fusionary’s new home is 220 Grandville Avenue, in the building adjoining Hopson Flats, right across the street from Founders Brewing. Why choose this particular locale? Not only do we like the energy of the area, this city has been good to us, and we couldn’t imagine having an address that didn’t include GR.	Forget the fact it’s Halloween, Fusionary Media isn’t scared. Today we officially begin conducting business from our new office in the Heartside neighborhood of Grand Rapids. It’s from here that we’ll continue building the quality websites and interactive experiences you’ve come to know us for.

Specifically, Fusionary’s new home is 220 Grandville Avenue, in the building adjoining Hopson Flats, right across the street from Founders Brewing. Why choose this particular locale? Not only do we like the energy of the area, this city has been good to us, and we couldn’t imagine having an address that didn’t include GR.

Important though it was, location comprised only part of the appeal. Just as important was the interior of the space itself. Formerly the game room for Hopson Flats residents, the wide open space, high ceilings, and potential for renovation offered up the kind of blank slate we needed to incorporate several features of our own design.

With help from local interior design firm Fuller Design, we put our stamp on nearly every element of the new office, including a large spiral slide that connects the first and previously non-existent second floors.

I’m sorry did you say a slide?

That’s right, we said a slide, a large spiral one at that. Just because you work hard, doesn’t mean you can’t have a little fun.

Stop by and see us the next time you’re in the area.

New Site Launch: Siciliano’s Market

Add Grand Rapids-based specialty store "Siciliano’s Market":http://sicilianosmkt.com/v/market/ to Fusionary’s list of satisfied clients.	Add Grand Rapids-based specialty store Siciliano’s Market to Fusionary’s list of satisfied clients.

For several months we worked with key members of the Siciliano’s staff to identify and rectify shortcomings in their previous site. In addition to a design aesthetic more in-tune with the store’s physical space, the new site now includes an easy-to-navigate collection of homebrew and winemaking resources.

Sicilianosmkt.com also includes an e-commerce wing, only the foundation of which was laid with our help. Wanting to do as much in-house work as possible, Siciliano’s chose to finish the digital marketplace themselves. They will continue to add features, images and new products as time allows.

A leading outlet for locally produced libations, Siciliano’s Market jokingly offered to pay us in beer. The proposition is one we may or may not have accepted.

	Cheers!

Fusionary turns sixteen today! To mark the occasion we’re maintaining the office status quo: lots of good hard work for the clients who made the last sixteen years a possibility (drinks to come later).

Many thanks to our friends, family, clients and staff. Without you all Fusionary just wouldn’t be the same!

Fusionary is pleased to announce the launch of another new site, this one for Lippincott, a New York-based advertising agency whose portfolio includes some of the world’s most recognized brands, Coca-Cola, Delta Air Lines, and Visa to name a few.	Fusionary is pleased to announce the launch of another new site, this one for Lippincott, a New York-based advertising agency whose portfolio includes some of the world’s most recognized brands, Coca-Cola, Delta Air Lines, and Visa to name a few.

Before Lippincott approached us, they had already developed an enormous wish list and a clear sense of how the site should look. What they needed was a partner to help bring it all to life. Enter Fusionary. For months we worked with their team to create an incredible site, one that exhibits a variety of interesting and unique UI features. And of course the whole of it is backed by a comprehensive content management system.

During weekly conference calls Fusionary and Lippincott worked to refine and build on each other’s good ideas. The process proved to be efficient, so successful that the two companies have plans to collaborate on more projects in the future. We’re looking forward to it.

Cheese-n-Greetings

Fusionary has a reputation for creating fun—some might say silly—holiday greetings. Swoop-to-Nuts, Phoenix Chicken, and Little Orange Star are just a few gems of holidays past.

This year we made sure not to disappoint. We extended our tradition by creating a custom-designed card complete with cheesy photo, homemade crackers from Marie Catrib’s, and cheese from Grassfields farm. In case one silly photo wasn’t enough, we also put together a small site at www.cheese-n-greetings.com to show off a few photos that didn’t make the cut.

Bummed you missed out? Send a message to info@fusionary.com if you’d like to be on our holiday list. Act fast and you might even get something this year.

Happy holidays from everyone at Fusionary!

New Site Launch: The Funky Buddha Yoga Hothouse

For the past few months we’ve been working with The Funky Buddha Yoga Hothouse crafting their very first website, and we’re happy to announce the site (and their new business) has launched. The website is a big part of Funky Buddha’s marketing effort and we helped bring their vision for the studio to the web.

After determining audience needs, defining content goals, and developing an architecture, we put together a site that makes The Funky Buddha approachable for everyone—seasoned yogi or not. We also managed the content production process and created and edited copy. The new site design is energetic and embodies the spirit of the studio.

Finally, we wanted to keep their focus on what they do best—getting their Funky Buddha on—so we built the site on a content management system that makes updates quick and painless. We also integrated an e-newsletter and bridged their third-party business management tool with the site to keep all their vital information in one place.

Visitors are jazzed about the site and it’s already gotten some great feedback. Check it out: www.yogahothouse.com

Marie Catrib’s Site Launch

We jumped at the chance to work with Marie Catrib’s, a family-owned restaurant that lovingly serves up fresh, local food from area farms. Working with them on the redesign was great, and we’re happy to announce the launch of their new site.

In addition to reorganizing content and site architecture, we created a textured, typography-driven design that embodies their creative culture. We collaborated with a talented illustrator at Marie’s, whose illustrations bring the spirit of the restaurant to the site. Other features like large image banners and slideshows show off the restaurant and Marie’s tasty treats.

We also integrated a new ecommerce solution giving Marie’s a fantastic online store. Customers can easily browse the various assortment of goodies and search the store for specific items, from breads to gluten-free granola to cakes—even gift certificates. Marie’s is now much better equipped to manage and promote their online store.

The new site fits Marie Catrib’s perfectly; it’s fresh, fun, and friendly. Both the site and the store are built on a powerful content management system making updating content, changing photos, and adding and removing store products a piece of cake.

Check out the site (and the granola!): www.mariecatribs.com

Details Site Launch

We’ve been working with Details for years on a number of different projects, including a custom catalog tool, and a private site for dealers. We even developed their previous site in 2005, but after a long five years it became clear it needed a redesign. We tackled the project with a small team at Details and after a few months of hard work we’re happy to announce the new site has launched.

Our goal was to create an architecture and design that provides a quality experience for all visitors. By streamlining product browsing and making detailed information available via a comprehensive search, we made the site easy and straight forward for individual customers yet deep enough for designers and dealers. We didn’t want to sacrifice depth of content for a clean design so we worked to reorganize and design a layout that accomplishes both, accommodating large product images, brochures, specification guides, assembly and care instructions, and 3D design files. Customers even have the option to buy a product online from the Steelcase Store, a site we developed with Steelcase in 2006.

The new site is a big improvement for Details, both functionally and aesthetically. Details now has a site that is inline with their business goals and that will last for years to come—and that’s something to be happy about.

Check out the new site: www.details-worktools.com

Now she’s back and we’re thrilled to have her. Stephanie will be joining our customer service and maintenance department; she brings a good deal of experience after running her own web-based business (and raising two boys).
