We have a blast working on creative holiday projects to send to our clients, family, and friends—and it gives us the chance to work on something out-of-the-ordinary. Orangecello, Phoenix Chicken, Swoop-to-Nuts, and Little Orange Star are just a few treasures from years past.
This year we created Rocket Fuel, our own cold-brewed coffee. We started with raw coffee beans that our resident jQuery expert roasted himself (he owned a coffee shop years ago, so he knows a thing or two). After grinding the beans—and inhaling quite a bit of coffee dust—we brewed 40 gallons and put it through a labor-intensive filtering process. Then we labeled the bottles using a jig we made from Legos, and packaged it up with two flavorings in a custom rocket-shaped box. It was a lot of work, but so worth it to see our idea through from concept to production. Cold or hot, people are loving it and we’re enjoying some great feedback.
Happy Holidays from the rocket scientists at Fusionary!

Fusionary is proud to have been selected to lead the redesign of the new TowerPinkser website. Working with their marketing team, we led them through a user-centered design process identifying key audience objectives, and developed site architecture based on audience and content goals. We worked with TowerPinkster’s existing branding to create a unique design that better showcases the good work for which they’re known.

We recently launched the new site we created for the Central Association of College and University Business Officers. We worked with their Board to organize their large amount of content; archives and a resource library make finding content much easier. The site now features CACUBO’s annual professional development events and volunteer opportunities. We also redesigned their logo as part of the redesign project.

It’s no secret that we love a good beer (have we mentioned our office is across the street from Founders?). This love, paired with Michigan’s growing craft beer industry, culminated in our mobile app: Micro Caps.
Micro Caps is a free casual game matching caps from breweries all over the state. More than just an addictive game, it is a full index of craft breweries in the state providing location and map information, and links to websites and social media pages. The app also includes advertisements that display between levels and feature beer-related events, trivia, and more. We manage and track these ads with an ad server we built ourselves.
Check it out: www.microcapsgame.com
Update: Michigan Micro Caps has been downloaded over 5,000 times! We’ve also rolled out Micro Caps for four other popular micro brew states, including North Carolina, Colorado, Washington, and Maine.

We are happy to announce the launch of the new Coalesse website. We enjoy working with Steelcase on sites for their various brands, and Coalesse was no exception. In the transition to a global crossover brand, Coalesse needed to redesign their US site and create new sites in multiple languages. We helped Coalesse architect the site and also consulted on interaction and usability design. We then built the site from visual designs provided by the Coalesse team. It was a big project, and we are continuing to work with Coalesse to make enhancements.

Fusionary is happy to announce the launch of the new Campus View website. Campus View is one of many apartment and townhome complexes at Grand Valley State University. We redesigned the site, updating their brand and helping them stand out from the crowd with an easy way to browse floor plans and amenities.

Fusionary is excited to announce the launch of Varnum’s new site. The project began out of a need for an updated content management system, but it quickly became clear the design needed an update as well. The new site not only has an updated design, but a number of new features including custom event registration forms. We’ve continued working with Varnum providing maintenance and new feature enhancements like a blog migration and redesign, mobile site, and alumni map tool.

Here at Fusionary we’re suckers for tradition. Every year since 1995 we’ve committed ourselves to creating unique and memorable holiday greetings. A phoenix chicken, a flying squirrel, a simulated scavenger hunt on cd-rom (remember those?)—this is how we extend a warm cheese-n-greetings to all those we care about.
2011 is no exception…okay, so there’s one exception. Normally at least half the greeting is online. This year we’re giving away booze, homemade Orangecello to be exact, and rather than create a web-based experience to complement the gift, we devoted our time to perfecting the recipe. Turns out the decision was a good one—early feedback suggests Fusionary brand Orangecello is a hit!
Happy Holidays from all of us at Fusionary. Please celebrate responsibly.

Today Fusionary launched mcfaddensgrandrapids.com, the second of five separate sites that Grand Rapids-based restaurant group Barfly Ventures has asked us to create for them. Viceroygr.com, the first in the series, launched a few months ago; the remaining three sites, including one for local hotspot HopCat, are currently in development and will be launching sometime in early 2012.
